I have been working with artificial intelligence, Grok, to produce the dragon images for this blog.
It sounds simple enough. I wanted clean black silhouettes of dragons. What I got was anything but simple and clean. After a lot of back and forth, I settled for the vibrant images of dragons you see on this site.
I thought I would share with you today some of the creations Grok made when I asked him to help create Albert Rheneas Hinkleback, my mascot for this blog.

For some reason, Grok kept putting him in a library with spectacles on, even though I asked Grok to start fresh. I added in the wild to the next prompt, and Grok forgot one or both wings in all the images.

I added with wings to the next prompt, and the result was better, but still, they were all wearing glasses.

I do like the idea of Albert Rheneas Hinkleback having a fun accessory like an article of clothing, so I suggested to Grok without glasses, add a scarf. Gotta love a dragon with a little swagger, right?

I decided against a scarf; none of the images came close to how I imagined Albert Rheneas Hinkleback. I added the prompt without scarf, add hat, but those images were terrible, so I tried to be more specific and added the prompt in the style of Indiana Jones. Honestly, I almost fell out of my chair. One of the images was too disturbing to show here. They were so bizarre.

I guess we will be sticking with the spectacles.
